Mrs. Naazendeh Mecklai, a Clinical Dietician and Nutritional Counsellor, conducted workshops for International Baccalaureate(IB), Senior and Middle School students. It was an interactive session that revolved around topics like calories, weight, body image, dieting and eating disorders.
She gave the students pointers on how not to compromise on taste but at the same time manage to eat healthy and feel good. It was very important to introduce this aspect of Food and Nutrition to the students when they hit adolescence for a more holistic approach of the topic.
The aim of this session was to help students realise the importance of a well balanced and healthy diet. It also encouraged an awareness amongst them to self consciously opt for healthier meals rather than eating unhealthy and packaged items. The students enjoyed the session thoroughly and clarified their misconceptions and doubts regarding this topic.
